(1) Bufonaria thersites (Redfield, 1846) BROWN44.4 mm

Philippines. Olango Island. 10-25 meters deep. Collected by local fishermen. 2010. Remarks: Bufonaria thersites is a quite special species: it lives somewhere between Olango and Nocnocan Island along the north coast of Bohol, but only a few fishermen know exactly where, and they kept the secret for years by now. Most probably this Bufonaria lives on a place of less than a 5 square kilometers. The rediscovery started at high prices, but now the market is quite saturated. What is less known is the existence of BROWN specimen as the one shown here, of which only a few have been collected up to today: a rarity. Estimation: 30-50 EUR. This is the second one we got in 7 years and out of 112 selected specimens. (€43)

(2) Conus australis duplicatus G. B. Sowerby I, 1823 (ALBINO) 61.7 mm

:Philippines. Mindanao. Zamboanga. Digos. Tangle nets, 50-150 meters deep. 2010. Remarks: Known from about 20 specimens. Estimation: 80-120 EUR. Nice elegant item missing in most Conus collections. (€87)
(3) Conus striolatus Kiener, 1845 (Yellow with Granules) 55.2 mm

Philippines. Southern Palawan. Balabac Island. Fished by fishermen from Olango Island. Summer 2009. Remarks: A GRANULATE Conus striolatus. This species is most often green, yellow ones are rare. A yellow with granules is unseen before. Small growth mark on the base, fresh and delicate. Absent from collections. Estimation: 50-100 EUR. With Operculum. (€92)
(4) Guildfordia yoka delicata Habe & Okutani, 1983 (Fake) 104.3 mm.

Philippines. Mactan Island. Punta Engano. Tangle nets, 100-150 meters deep. Collected by fishermen Remarks: Some of the fakes made by the Punta Engano people are beyond imagination. This piece is among these. Estimation: 50-75 EUR. We start at the production price. With Operculum. (41)

(5) Terebra guphilae Poppe, Tagaro & Terryn, 2009. 12 mm

Philippines. Mactan Island. Hadsan. 150 m deep. Guphil I. August 2010. Remarks: Second one we can offer, an extreme rarity. We auctioned the other shell that went for 72 EUR only. Less than 5 known in collections worldwide. Estimation: 65-100 EUR. (€125)

(6) Lyria planicostata (G. B. Sowerby III, 1903) 93.6 mm

Philippines. Balut Island. Tangle nets, about 150 meters deep. Collected by local fishermen. 2010. Remarks: Nobody knows why but occasionally both Lyria boholensis and Lyria planicostata come in OVERSIZED pieces. They are truly rare, this is the second large planicostata we got in 7 years. When seen compared to normal 65 mm ones, a stunning item. Estimation: 100-150 EUR (The other giant we got went for 115 EUR). (170)

(7) Conus filicinctus Bernardi, 1857, 37.5 mm

Philippines. Sulus Seas. Jolo. Collected by local fishermen. 2010. Remarks: One of the rarest Conus in the world. This specimen has a very nice coloration, and minor defects only as can be seen. This is NOT a voluminalis or a macarae. It has been described from the far south of the Philippines about 100 years ago. A few came on the market around 1960, this a a new finding. None of the ones figured in the literature are nice quality, this one is much better. Estimation: 85 -150 EUR. We could auction 2 nice ones before, they went for 87 and 150 respectively. (145)

(8) Naticarius lineozonus (Jousseaume, 1874) 7.3 mm

Philippines. Butuan City. Trawled, 30 - 50 meters deep. 2010. Remarks: We got 7 pieces in 7 years of this rare Naticid. This means 1 shell out of about 80,000 pieces belongs to the lineozonus. The pattern is amazing: pointille lines, filled with vanilla-brown and chocolate axials that stop right on the pointilles. Estimation: 40-60 EUR. (32)
